Overview
Overview

As a UX & UI designer at Red Dot Innovative, I was assigned to design a Human Resource Management System (HRMS) for a leading shipping company in Singapore.

Managing HR tasks can be complex, especially when systems are outdated. Shipping company’s current operations are entirely tracked using manual methods & Microsoft Excel-based data entry. The goal was to reduce administrative workload, improve user experience, and empower both employees and managers to take control of their HR-related tasks with ease.

Understanding the problem

The outdated and disorganized manual processes create an inefficient and challenging work environment for both managers and employees. Employees and HR staff struggled with broken systems for managing personnel records, tracking performance, and handling payroll and leave requests. This led to frequent data entry errors, increased administrative workload, and a bad user experience.

Solution

To solve the challenges faced by the shipping company, we designed a user-friendly HRMS system with web and mobile applications. The system included key features like Employee Management, Leave, Attendance, Payrolls, Administration, and Appraisals.

➡️ My Process
The journey of designing HRMS system began with a deep dive into understanding the business goals, target audience & pain points of users. With the clear understanding of the goals I brainstorm the ideas for HRMS system, done market research understanding similar platforms. Next, I create user flows for each stakeholders for their actions to interact with the system. With user flow in front, I design UI, iterate, prototype and send for feedbacks from internal & customer teams.
